Service Overview

What this service covers

Many businesses receive email services bundled with their Comcast Business internet or voice packages. These email accounts work like other business email, but the configuration details, DNS settings and account management options can be unfamiliar to teams that did not set them up originally.

Infinity Techiez provides independent technology services for businesses that need help with Comcast Business email. We are not Comcast, we are not affiliated with Comcast, and we are not an official Comcast service channel. Our role is to help you configure, administer and troubleshoot the email environment you already have so it works reliably for your business.

Common Requests

Everyday email tasks we handle

The most common email jobs businesses ask us about — from provider migrations to fixing delivery problems.

Email migration between providers

Move mailboxes between providers — for example comcast.net to Yahoo Mail, or ISP email to a business platform — keeping messages, folders and contacts intact.

Bulk email deletion & cleanup

Configure IMAP or POP incoming mail settings correctly so email syncs reliably across webmail, desktop and mobile.

Email client setup

Set up Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, mobile mail apps and webmail with the right server, port and security options.

Email not receiving

Diagnose why messages are not arriving — DNS or MX record problems, full mailboxes, filters, blocked senders or server-side issues.

Email not sending

Fix outgoing mail failures — SMTP settings, authentication errors, port blocks, sending limits and reputation problems.

Domain MX record setup

Create or correct MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records so mail for your domain routes to the right servers and passes authentication checks.

Working with Comcast Business email

Comcast Business email is often bundled with internet or voice services. It can be configured on standard email clients and devices using IMAP, POP or SMTP settings, though the exact configuration depends on the account type and any custom domain setup.

We help you gather the correct settings, configure devices, set up aliases or shared access where supported, and review authentication or DNS records that affect deliverability.

Comcast.net email is moving to Yahoo Mail

Comcast is migrating comcast.net email accounts to Yahoo Mail in phases through 2025 and 2026. When your mailbox is invited, you keep your comcast.net address, and your messages, folders and contacts carry over — but the move changes how you sign in and how your email clients connect.

There are practical limits worth preparing for: mailboxes with more than 4,100 folders are consolidated, only the first 10,000 contacts move, and messages larger than 25 MB are not migrated automatically — they must be downloaded first. Any comcast.net forwarding rules stop once the account moves, so they need to be recreated inside Yahoo Mail.

Preparing for and recovering after the move

Before your comcast.net account moves, it pays to clean up large attachments, shorten folder names over 240 characters, trim excess folders and contacts, and note any forwarding rules. After accepting Yahoo's terms at sign-in, desktop and mobile email clients must be updated to Yahoo's IMAP or SMTP settings to keep working.

Because the transition has attracted phishing scams, we also help verify that notices are genuine — official invitations only appear after signing in at connect.xfinity.com or login.yahoo.com, never through links demanding urgent action. We walk you through the legitimate path and get your devices working on the new platform.

When to consider a different platform

Bundled ISP email is convenient for basic use, but some businesses outgrow it. If you need more advanced collaboration tools, larger mailboxes, better admin controls or easier integration with business applications, a dedicated business email platform may be a better fit.

We can help you evaluate whether staying with Comcast email or moving to another platform makes sense for your requirements, and we can plan the migration if you decide to move.

Technical

Technical considerations

Details that affect reliability, timing and deliverability.

Account type differences

Comcast offers different account types with different features; confirm what your plan includes before planning changes.

Custom domain use

If you use a custom domain with Comcast email, DNS records must be configured correctly for delivery and authentication.

Client compatibility

Some older email clients may need updated settings or app passwords depending on Comcast's current requirements.

Data export options

If migrating away, confirm what mailbox data can be exported and in what format before starting.

Security

Security considerations

Measures that help protect accounts, data and domain reputation.

Account access

Review who has access to Comcast email admin settings and enable MFA where available.

Forwarding and aliases

Check automatic forwarding and alias settings so messages are not unintentionally exposed.

Authentication records

If using a custom domain, ensure SPF, DKIM and DMARC records reflect your actual sending sources.
